DC Sgr appeals people to avoid congregation, large gatherings; says to contain virus would be happiest moment for one and all

Srinagar, May 23 (KNO): The district administration Srinagar on Saturday ordered complete lockdown across the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir till May 31. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Choudhary told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the restrictions are already in place from past few months to contain the deadly virus from spreading. “The people across the Srinagar district cooperated with the administration very well and it is hoped that they will cooperate in the future as well,” DC Srinagar said, adding that on Eid, while all essential services will be allowed to operate as per existing norms, all other commercial and other activities will be prohibited. “The word Eid means Happiness and to contain the disease, would be the happiest situation for one and all,” he said. He appealed the people to avoid the congregations and large gatherings especially on the festivals—(KNO)
